D-Day has always been a passion of mine and the release of the D-Day range for Flames of War by Battlefront gave me an opportunity to create something I've always wanted...a bunker!

Setting out with the intention of creating an exact replica I sought accurate specifications. In total 651 bunkers were made to this design during WWII although many had minor variations depending upon their role or the local terrain.

The plans called for the use of 1.3 tonnes of structural steel, 7.5 tonnes of round steel bars and 165 cubic metres of concrete making this an extremely tough yet relatively small bunker.

Typically either a 5cm PAK38 or a 5cm KWK38 (more commonly found on a Panzer) was mounted on a pedestal allowing range of movement.
